In 1964 Auto-Union's official owners magazine was retired in favour of a new DKW Owners Club magazine. This magazine, the DKWV Journal, promoted the activities of the many owners and veteran clubs for DKW cars as it was apparent to those in the company that the days of DKW as a two-stroke engine car brand were coming to an end. This Journal, sponsored by Auto-Union, would eventually become a wholly independent veterans association when the company became Audi. It is now of course, the Auto Union Veteranen Club Nachrichten magazine.
